I have known John for over 20 years. He has been a mentor of mine from the beginning of my career. You will be hard pressed to find a better man. Not only does he understand the dynamics of coaching softball but he understands people.

Professionally, John is very versatile coach. He has worked at a multitude of levels and in a variety of positions. He has done everything from digging a warning track and painting fences to negotiating scholarships with top athletes. He’s managed team finances, coordinated fundraisers for equipment, and taken teams to compete internationally. He understands how to develop the fundamentals on the field as well as fine tune athletic ability with organized practices.

John Garris has been one of my foremost mentors over the past decade. John has consulted me on many of my various coaching roles. I first met Coach Garris at a camp and my interaction with him was impressive, as he is one of the best teachers around. John and I see the game similarly on the application of in game analytics in both baseball and softball. John see’s the game with a tremendous about of nuance & is a positive voice for the growth of the game. Each coach & player is better for being in the presence of John.
